'Root Hog or Die', a documentary filmed by Bernardston's Rawn Fulton in 1973, follows the cycle of a year, spring to winter, on dairy farms in several towns of western Massachusetts and southern Vermont. The many daily chores necessary to maintain the farm and to feed and care for the cows, pigs, sheep and draft animals, and the support the farmers gave to each other in these tightly knit communities shows us the self-reliance, good humor and common sense that it took to be a farmer in this area, from colonial times right up to 50 years ago. Filmmaker Rawn Fulton will be in attendance.
